Children's Ministry
Tonight, grades 2-5 will continue through the Answers In Genesis curriculum, "Wisdom from God." There will be a couple over-arching memory verses for this quarter, and each lesson will include themes, key passages, key points from the lesson, Q&A's, and some things for parents to do at home with the kids.
LESSON 12: GOD CALLS ELISHA.
Key Theme: God uses people to accomplish His perfect plans.
Key Passages: 2 Kings 2:6-14; 5:8-19.
What You Heard In the Word: Elijah's mantle was passed to Elisha as God took Elijah to heaven in the fiery chariot and whirlwind. Elisha received the blessing of God's Spirit and the responsibility of being a prophet of God. The miracles Elisha did showed that God's blessing was on Elisha and that he had authority as a prophet of God. He parted the Jordan, cured Naaman of leprosy, and performed many other miracles.
*We will send a copy/printout of the Family Booklet for the lesson with the kids so you spend time reiterating and reinforcing what they learned from each lesson.
